“I Have Set Watchmen on the Walls"
"I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem;
They shall never hold their peace day or night.
You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent,
And give Him no rest till He establishes
And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth."
— Isaiah 62:6-7 (NKJV)
In this passage, the Lord speaks through the prophet Isaiah, appointing watchmen over the city of Jerusalem. These watchmen were tasked with a relentless responsibility: they were to keep watch over the people, constantly interceding for theme, day and night. Their voices were never to grow silent in prayer, and their mission was to call upon God to bring His promises to fulfillment.
In the spirit, we are also called to be watchmen, watchmen over our families, our businesses, our churches, our cities our nation. And as the people of God, watchers over Nations.
Matthew 21:12-13 (NKJV), it says:
"Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. And He said to them, 'It is written, "My house shall be called a house of prayer," but you have made it a "den of thieves."'”
God is calling the church to be watchmen over the nations and to blow the whistle on many different levels to gather the troops to pray and intercede at many different and varying hot spots. These places are where the enemy (satan) is attempting to redefine boundaries to steal, kill and destroy.
Blowing the whistle and standing up and saying something about corrupt practices. Calling out lying, standing up for people that are being taken advantage of. Speaking out against sin. Praying against the forces of darkness that are working in different situations and through different people and circumstances. We are called to take our God given authority in our spheres of influence. It is a time to watch and pray…..
In the last few weeks we were in a prayer meeting and God gave me a scripture about the fall of the Prince of Tyre. Which was a story that tells of the fall of Lucifer. He was kicked out of heaven for his behaviour. The story is found in Ezekiel 28.
After I read this scripture I thought to myself the City of Tyre must be in what is now modern Lebanon. I said to the Lord if thats you speaking to me show me about Lebanon please confirm it. While I was praying in the Spirit (Praying in other tongues) one of the Ladies in the prayer meeting, had the interpretation of my tongues. She heard in the Spirit. “The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon. “ This comes from Psalm 29. We all sensed the Spirit of God on our prayers.
The following week Lebanon was in the news. All the Hezbollah fighters walkie talkies and pagers exploded killing many of the terrorists. The following weeks we have seen the Leaders of Hezbollah killed and Terrorism being thwarted through the power of Prayer and the corresponding actions that come from strong God given leadership that deals to wickedness.
This is the promise God has given for Lebanon for this time.
Isaiah 29:17-24 (NLT)
17 Soon—and it will not be very long—the forests of Lebanon will become a fertile field, and the fertile field will yield bountiful crops. 18 In that day the deaf will hear words read from a book, and the blind will see through the gloom and darkness.19 The humble will be filled with fresh joy from the Lord. The poor will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. 20 The scoffer will be gone,the arrogant will disappear, and those who plot evil will be killed. 21 Those who convict the innocent by their false testimony will disappear. A similar fate awaits those who use trickery to pervert justice and who tell lies to destroy the innocent.
Similarly it is a time to really pray over the USA and Israel especially now through to the New Year. God is calling many people to enter into the ministry of being watchers both Men and Women. It is a powerful world shaping Ministry where we can used by the Lord to bring protection. Prayer always precedes powerful moves of God. God is calling us to go deeper and to be watchful and alert in this important time of global change.
Make a commitment to take time or times out even multiple times daily to watch and pray
