Pressing Onwards

"That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead." Philippians 3:10-13 (NKJV)

Paul's desire in this passage is clear—he wants to know Christ. Not just intellectually, but in the full power of His resurrection, with victory and supernatural help! This kind of faith will acquaint you with the fellowship of His sufferings being submitted to Christ’s sacrifice and yielded to the Father’s will. Paul’s pursuit of Christ was not passive; it was by faith on purpose.

Paul acknowledges that he hasn’t yet "arrived." Despite his great accomplishments and experiences in the faith (where others may have thought he had arrived), he maintained there’s still more to know and achieve in Christ. This. Faith drives greater breakthroughs rather than resting on his previous victories he knew there was more to accomplish in the call of God. We must choose to "forget those things which are behind," whether they are failures, successes, or past spiritual milestones. Instead reach forward, press on and achieve the high call of God in Christ Jesus.

Desire to Know Christ More Deeply: This includes experiencing His power and being willing to share in His sufferings. What a privilege!!

Let Go of the Past:
To move forward in faith, we must release the weight of past mistakes or sins repenting to receive grace, overcome regrets or hurts. Lastly let go of idolizing past victories to achieve more in the Now. God want us. To fulfill. His unfolding purpose!
